365 Days Cotton – Soft & Durable DK Weight Cotton Yarn (100g / 260m) (Warm Beige)

I’m really pleased with this yarn, I have enjoyed working with it on a few crochet projects. I usually work with acrylic yarns but cotton is ideal when you want crisp stitch definition (this especially worked well with lacy or more intricate patterns). This mercerised version has a noticeable sheen that gives finished pieces a polished and high-quality look rather than the flatter appearance standard cotton can sometimes have. The yarn feels smooth, soft, and strong. It glides nicely on the hook, making it comfortable to work with for longer sessions. I found it particularly well suited to decorative items like headbands and accessories, where the stitch detail really stands out.

Delivery was good too! The yarn arrived clean and neatly packaged. It was not overly compressed, which is something I always appreciate. There’s also a great choice of colours available. The shade I received was rich and attractive, it worked beautifully for my project. It’s labelled as DK, but it does appear a little finer than typical DK yarn, likely due to the tighter twist and smooth finish. That said, the quality more than makes up for it. For the price, this feels like very good value for a high-grade cotton yarn.

This is a lovely mercerised cotton with excellent shine and durability. I’d happily use it again for crochet or knitting projects where a refined finish really matters.

This is a very good quality cotton yarn, ideal for knitting and crochet. I intend to use it in a weaving project that I have in mind. I've just done a test square for now. There's enough give without it being too stretchy and it holds its shape well. It also washed nicely. The price for such fine quality is good. I'd get this again.

I crochet and primarily use acrylic yarns but there have been occasions that call for cotton. Cotton yarns has less stretch and also less fuzzy in appearance so gives clearer stitch definition, which you want when you have spent a lot of effort working on a fancy stitch and you want it to be apparent and not lost in the generally fuzz. Cotton yarn usually has a very flat appearance, this Mercerised cotton has been treated resulting a very lustrous appearance. For Christmas presents I had crocheted some headbands with pretty lacy designs using mercerised cotton and results were lovely.

I have order Utopia Craft yarn in the post and as aways this has arrived in a clean condition in a plastic bag, not horribly squashed and flattened in vacuum sealed bag which is often the case when ordering yarn online.

There is a wide range of colours to choose from, I chose Dusty Mauve and it looks more purple than it does pink, in fact I can’t help but think it looks more like Dusty Lavender and wonder if the colours have somehow become muddled up. The colour I’ve received is nice enough but it isn’t what I was expecting and really doesn’t have a rosy pink tinge at all.

This is described as DK yarns but its appearance is much thinner than regular DK yarn, this may be because the fibres have been twisted tighter and there is by far a less fuzzy appearance.

Price wise £5.99 seems reasonable for 100g of quality cotton yarn. I really think Dusty Mauve and Dusty Lavender have becomes mixed up somewhere along the line, I’m hoping this is a one off and am still awarding 5 stars.

I love the beautiful burgundy colour. Deep and evocative of a fine wine.

Soft, yet feels strong. I do like cotton knitted goods as they generally have a good weight to them and are very breathable.

The price on this one reflects the high quality.

Easy to work with and slides easily on the knitting needles. The depth of the colour and shine are much nicer than the photos show.
