ULTRA-SOFT CHENILLE BLANKET YARN — Crafted from 100% premium polyester chenille that feels like cashmere against your skin. Unlike cheap scratchy yarns, our super chunky yarn stays irresistibly soft and plush wash after wash. Each 250g (8.8 oz) ball gives you 25m (27 yds) of cloud-like thick yarn — enough to start your first cozy project right away
My fiancée has been saying about starting a chunky throw for a while now, so now she has no excuses as I've given her some wool to start it. She absolutely loves the baby pink colour, which is consistent throughout the full ball. The yarn itself feels incredibly soft and plush to the touch.
Because it is so thick, she found it to be really simple to work with using just her arms, and it glides smoothly without snagging or shedding loose fibres everywhere. The stitches look really neat and have a lovely chunky appearance and look very cosy.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that a single 250g ball does not go very far at all. It gives you about 25 metres of yarn, which is great for a small project or a practice run, but we needed to pick up a few more balls in order for her to finish the blanket she is making.
While it might get quite expensive having to buy multiple balls of yarn to complete a larger project, the softness and ease of use make it a really nice to work with and worth the money. Overall, if you are looking to start a knitting project, or have a crafty idea for this yarn, I definitely recommend this, but just make sure to order enough for the size of your project.
This super chunky chenille yarn is gorgeous and so incredibly soft to the touch. I got this to make some cosy winter projects and the thickness is just perfect. Because it is so wonderfully thick and plush, it's really easy to work with and you don't even need to use needles if you prefer arm knitting or hand crochet. The colour is rich and vibrant. There's no annoying shedding or fraying, and it creates the most beautiful chunky stitches that look and feel like a cloud.
The only thing to keep in mind is that a single 250g skein doesn't go far on its own, so you'll definitely need to buy a few more if you want to make a full size throw blanket, for example! That said, it is a joy to work with because your projects grow so quickly.
It is good value for money for such premium quality yarn.
This chenille yarn from Utopia Crafts is good. I always rewind yarn I get and re-roll to ensure there are not knots or joined bits and I can confirm this is one continuous piece. It is lovely and soft and a lovely cornflower blue as well. But it isn't as thick as other yarn I have used.
It certainly looks thick but when you feel it you can feel it is thinner than others, not as dense. I made a lap blanket a little while ago and I'm going to add this to one end, to make it longer - not now though as I think I'd melt in this heat as it will sit across my lap while 'knitting' it! When I do I will be able to tell properly if the thickness is an issue.
Price wise, it sits about the middle of others I have had at £11.90 at time of order.
This is some lush yarn. Extremely thick, chonk and soft. My youngest absolutely loved crocheting with it but 250g does not go far. You’ve got about enough here to make an Ushanka-style hat or a small, thick bag.
The colour is beautiful and vivid. There’s no odd smell in the pack. It’s a visual pleasure.
Because it’s so thick, it’s easy to crochet with and also you’ll find yourself going through it extremely quickly. You’ve may also find yourself wanting more. Like we did. I had such a positive experience with this yarn that I ordered several more immediately after using it (you can see my additional orders in one of the pictures for an idea of some other colours). That’s quite the endorsement.
Utopia Crafts Super Chunky Blanket Yam is actually very thick and chunky and its perfect for knitting a thick blanket. The fabric is super soft so converting this into a cosy blanket is perfect choice. I got the Dark Teal coloured yarn to match the house aesthetic and I am really happy with the colour choice.
