The Moonlace Shawl

The Moonlace Shawl is a lightweight triangular knit, designed to follow you through changing seasons and the quieter hours of the day.

Description

The Moonlace Shawl is a lightweight triangular knit, designed to follow you through changing seasons and the quieter hours of the day.

Created by Abbie Mycroft using our 365 Days Cotton DK, it features a delicate central lace motif that travels down the back of the shawl like a trail of moonlight. Increases are worked at both the centre and outer edges, gradually forming its triangular shape.

The mercerised cotton gives the finished shawl a smooth drape and makes it a genuinely year-round layer. Wear it over your shoulders on breezy beach days, keep it nearby for cooler autumn evenings on the terrace, or wrap it around you beside the campfire after sunset.

The six-row pattern repeat is simple to settle into, while the central lace detail keeps the project engaging. Its size is also easy to customise: work fewer repeats for a smaller neckerchief-style shawl or continue knitting for a more generous wrap.

Finish it simply or add the optional crochet shell border for a softly scalloped edge.
